About

Judith Sherwin, PsyD, developed LifeTalk to reflect her work as a psychotherapist and educator. She has been in private practice for more than 30 years helping individuals and couples enrich their lives and relationships. Dr. Sherwin holds a Doctor of Psychology Degree in Marital and Family Therapy, a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, and pursues and teaches on-going education in the field.

Dr. Sherwin believes that people come to therapy to learn how to improve the quality of their lives. If she determines additional resources may be helpful outside the appointment time, she will suggest books (bibliotherapy), films (cinematherapy), apps, videos, relevant news articles, and other self-help homework assignments.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sherwin has been an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University teaching courses in Marriage and Family Therapy since 2002.

Dr. Sherwin’s mission is to provide therapy and consultations to help clients make more positive choices and facilitate change to lead happier and more fulfilling lives.

What Clients Say

You once told me when my daughter and I were having communication problems ‘You can be right or you can have a loving relationship.’ Those words ring so true and helped me to curb my tongue on many occasions.”

Working with Dr. Sherwin gave my girlfriend and me so much more insight into our individual and couple issues. She is so good at picking up on emotional cues that it makes sessions so much easier.
